Particle Size and Distribution of Pigments and Fines
涂料中颜(填)料的颗粒大小和粒度分布是影响涂膜光泽的重要因素之一。人们在研究中发现,当颜料颗粒的直径小于0.3μm时,才可以获得高光泽的涂膜。原因为:分散在涂料中的颜料颗粒在制成一定厚度的涂膜,并干燥后,仅有最上层的颜料颗粒局部地上突,颗粒直径小于0.3μm的颜料离子所造成的涂膜表面粗糙度不会超过0.1μm。当颜料的平均颗粒直径在3~5μm之间时,可以得到消光效果较好的涂膜。
The particle size and particle size distribution of pigments (fillers) in coatings are one of the important factors affecting the gloss of coatings. It has been found that a high gloss coating can be obtained when the diameter of the pigment particles is less than 0.3 um. The reason is that the pigment particles dispersed in the coating are formed into a film with a certain thickness, and after drying, only the topmost pigment particles are locally protruded. The surface roughness of the coating caused by the pigment ions whose particle diameter is less than 0.3 micron will not exceed 0.1 micron. When the average particle diameter of pigments is between 3 and 5 microns, a better extinction coating can be obtained.
除以上三个因素可以影响涂膜表面的光泽外,颜料的体积浓度(PVC),颜料的分散性以及涂膜表面结构和表面反射特性等因素也会影响涂膜表面的光泽。其中,随颜料的PVC增大,涂膜表面的光泽度先是降低,在颜料的极限体积浓度(CPVC)处出现极小值,然后伴随着PVC的增大,光泽度也变大。当颜料种类和用量确定后,分散越好,涂膜表面的光泽度越高。
In addition to the above three factors, the volume concentration of pigments (PVC), the dispersion of pigments, the surface structure and surface reflection properties of the coatings also affect the gloss of the coatings. With the increase of PVC pigments, the glossiness of the film surface first decreases, and the minimum value appears at the limit volume concentration (CPVC) of the pigments, and then increases with the increase of PVC. When the type and amount of pigments are determined, the better the dispersion, the higher the gloss of the film surface.
