对于常规消光粉，大家都知道消光剂的平均粒径越大，消光效率就越高。但如颗粒太大了，会导致漆膜表面太粗糙，影响手感和外观。

选择孔隙率（孔容）较高的产品。孔隙率越大，单位重量粉料含量就会越高，消光性能就越好。

消光剂的平均粒径越小，漆膜的透明性就越好，但相应消光效率也会降低，需要指出的是细粉含量太高，对透明度会产生负面影响。

有机处理的消光粉：防沉性能会好一些。消光剂随着涂料存放时间的延长，都会在一定程度上出现分层与沉淀但是这个只是短时间的，时间太长的话，还是会沉淀。

蜡处理的消光粉：一般利用于清漆当中，由于清漆中不方便加白炭黑，所以清漆中添加蜡处理的消光粉，防沉淀、结硬块，并能与溶剂型涂料体系很好地相容，不会产生重浮附着力问题，相反还增加漆膜抗划伤性，增强漆膜滑度，不足之处是经蜡处理的白炭黑消光剂消光性稍差，漆膜透光度略差。
